Desto Dubb is an entrepreneur and artist originally from Watts, Los Angeles, California that attended Crenshaw High School. Even back in middle school and high school, Dubb was a hustler. After getting thrown in jail for selling lean, he sought more legitimate ways to get money. There’s an iconic video of his arrest that went viral where a cop says “that’s an awful lot of cough syrup, you must be sick or something.” This poignant line was Dubb’s inspiration to jump-start the line and create the first T-shirt drop. It had the brand’s name-sake plastered on the front with the now legendary double cup on the back and went on to sell crazy numbers. Even though Dubb had been selling shirts since middle school, this particular line of clothes was his big hit.
No stranger to side hustles, in his early years of success, Dubb took on Airbnb hosting at his Downtown LA apartment to further support himself. He also became a tattoo artist and inked some incredibly famous individuals such as Nipsey, YG, and Lil Pump. Born from his need to stack creative outlets, Dubb even began rapping not long after 2010. In the past, he had been the gopher for his affiliated crew, fulfilling requests for weed, women, drugs, etc. He actually came along for Drake and A$AP Rocky’s Club Paradise Tour on similar grounds.
By 2016, Desto Dubb put out his first formal project titled Born To Sale Juice that was featured in XXL. The buzz from the album around LA and online earned him an interview on No Jumper and a subsequent slot on the first No Jumper Tour with Lil Pump and Smokepurpp.
